River Whyless

“There are hints of Paul Simon in their inflections and poetic phrasing, and their songs feel fresh and nicely crafted.” ~ Bob Boilen, NPR Music

“Perhaps the most exciting new act out of Asheville, whose music scene is exploding as much as its microbrew scene.” ~ Martin Anderson, WNCW for OpenAirCPR

“Sometimes it can be hard to stand out in the crowd when you’re producing experimental folk rock. Plenty of groups are capable of harmonizing well and turning simplistic rhythms into infectious anthems, but it’s rare to find artists who can evoke as much emotion as River Whyless.” ~ Paste Top 10 EPs of 2015

River Whyless began in 2012 with the release of their first full-length album titled A Stone, A Leaf, An Unfound Door. They followed that by releasing a self-titled EP in 2015. In 2016, River Whyless released their second full-length album titled We All The Light via Roll Call Records.
